Our Commitment

These are our actions aimed at reducing our environmental impact and strengthening our commitment to the planet

Miguel Torres is strongly committed to reducing its carbon footprint.

01

CO2 Foot print impact

Traceability, in 2019 we introduced a new platform (Sami Sustainability Metrics) to measure our CO2 emissions in all our processes, and now we are able to analyse each area and introduce new processes to reduce CO2 emissions.

02

Energy Consumption

Since 2018 100% of the total energy is coming from renewal energy. The total energy purchased is coming from certified renewable energy. Photovoltaic energy accounts for 6.4% of the total electricity consumed by the plant. In total, biomass boilers account for 22% of the heat energy consumed

Miguel Torres uses solar energy, and 100% of its energy comes from renewable sources.
Responsible water management

03

Water Management

Managing water impact is a high priority for the company and is therefore part of its Sustainability Strategy. Production processes are being modified to reduce water consumption, especially cleaning and sanitisation processes, without affecting their efficiency.

04

Waste Management

95% of waste is reused or revalued. The main residue generated corresponds to organic material from the harvest process (pomace and stems), all of which are reincorporated into the land as soil improvers.

95% of waste is reused or reevaluated
At Miguel Torres, we use lightweight bottles to reduce our carbon footprint.

05

Product Packaging

Progressive reduction of packaging materials and bottle weights. We have reduced the weight of our bottles by 33% and we also work with our suppliers to promote the measurement and reduction of their respective GHG inventories.
